Microsoft publishes NZD list prices for the Power Platform, so nobody in New Zealand should be budgeting on a US price times an exchange rate. The five numbers that decide most small-firm projects: Power Apps Premium NZ$32.40 per user per month, Power Automate Premium NZ$24.30 per user, Power Automate Process NZ$242.70 per flow, Power Pages NZ$323.60 per site for logged-in users, and Dataverse database capacity NZ$64.70 per GB. Everything in the SharePoint, Teams and Forms layer of Microsoft 365 is already paid for.

Can I still buy the Power Apps Per App plan in NZ?
It depends on your purchasing channel. General sale ended on 2 January 2026, so for eleven weeks in early 2026 a NZ business outside an Enterprise Agreement could not buy the cheapest Power Apps licence at all. Enterprise Agreement customers could keep renewing, and Microsoft restored access through CSP resellers in April 2026, quietly: most people found out from their partner, not an announcement. If you buy retail, it is off the menu. Confirm against your own channel before budgeting, because Microsoft licensing moves mid-year and without much noise.
Nothing replaced it directly. The two routes left are Premium at NZ$32.40 a user a month, which covers a person running any number of apps, and pay-as-you-go at about USD 10 per active user per app per month, which bills only the people who open the app that month. A twenty-person firm where an app is opened by six people in a normal month pays for six, which is why pay-as-you-go is the sleeper on the list. If you hold Per App now, treat the renewal date like an expiry on something you cannot repurchase: count monthly active users per app from the Power Platform admin centre, price that against pay-as-you-go, price your heavy users against Premium, and only then decide whether the grandfathered plan still wins. It often does. The bad version is finding out at renewal that your CSP dropped it.
Reading the table without getting caught
- The licence follows the person who opens the app or owns the flow, not the headcount. Eight staff who only get an email from a flow need nothing beyond Microsoft 365.
- One premium step makes the whole flow premium. SQL Server, HTTP, custom connectors, the gateway and most third-party connectors including Xero. The list is in premium connectors, explained.
- Dataverse is not a line item. It comes with Power Apps or Power Automate Premium and brings 10 GB with it. Dataverse pricing in NZ has the capacity maths.
- Process at NZ$242.70 is the common mis-buy. Give the nightly sync a human owner on Premium at NZ$24.30 unless it genuinely cannot have one.
- Pay-as-you-go is USD and Azure. It needs an Azure subscription linked to the environment and it moves with the exchange rate; cheaper than Premium for one app, dearer from two.
- Limits shape the bill as much as price does. Database and file capacity, API request caps and environment counts run out before the licence does; see Dataverse storage limits NZ, Dataverse API request limits and Power Platform environments: how many you get, and for a Teams app that outgrows its free tier, upgrading Dataverse for Teams to Dataverse.
If you want the numbers applied to your own headcount and connectors, the licence picker does it in a minute; the job-software side of the bill is on the trades software price index. For how these numbers scale against Microsoft 365 for a 5, 10 or 20 person firm, and how many NZ firms are actually that size, see the NZ small business software census. Three worked comparisons use these prices for 10 people: SharePoint against Dataverse, Business Central against a Power App on Xero, and Power Apps against Airtable, Notion and monday.com. The per-site price for a portal is on Power Pages pricing in NZ, and the Access move is priced on Access to Power Apps in NZ.

Method, and citing this page
Every NZD figure is read from the en-nz page on the check date; nothing is converted. Where Microsoft publishes no NZD price (pay-as-you-go meters, Copilot Studio credits) the USD figure is shown and labelled. The page is re-checked each quarter and the change log records anything that moved. Corrections by email are welcome and get a dated note.
